Mötley Crüe have announced the details of the soundtrack for Netflix's biopic The Dirt. The upcoming film will feature four new songs including “The Dirt (Est. 1981).”
They also released the music video for “The Dirt (Est. 1981),” which features the band in the studio as well as The Dirt star Machine Gun Kelly, who portrays drummer Tommy Lee in the film.
“During the filming of our movie we got excited and inspired to write new music,” Nikki Sixx said in a statement. “Getting back in the studio with Bob Rock just fueled the creative fires for us. To me, the music sounds like classic Mötley. The lyrics were written for the movie and are a reflection of our life.”
The soundtrack, which is available to preorder now, consists of 14 of Mötley Crüe’s biggest songs as well as 3 new songs, “The Dirt (Est. 1981),” “Ride With the Devil,” and “Crash and Burn,” and a cover of Madonna’s “Like a Virgin." The Dirt soundtrack will be released on March 22, the same day the biopic premieres on Netflix. The film’s trailer was released earlier this week.
