MUNA have recently shared a new EP called Live at Electric Lady. Included on the five-track record is a synthy cover of Taylor Swift's folklore song "August."
Besides the Swift tribute, the EP also includes tracks from MUNA's self-titled album, including “Silk Chiffon,” “Anything but Me,” and “Kind of Girl,” as well as “Taken” from their 2019 LP Saves the World.
On the EP and the Swift cover, the band said in a statement: "The whole environment at Electric Lady Studios is so supportive and open, it often leads to making new creative choices while you’re in the midst of recording. “August” took on this very breathy, quiet quality that we hadn’t anticipated, but we just went with."
MUNA have not posted a video for their "August" cover yet, but they have shared music videos for “Anything but Me” and “Silk Chiffon.” They performed “Silk Chiffon” with Phoebe Bridgers – whose label Saddest Factory Records they are signed to – on The Late Late Show With James Corden last November. The hit sapphic song has also been recently featured on Netflix's popular teen comedy flick Do Revenge.
