Super Bowl 2024: Usher Performs the Halftime Show & Various Artists Make Appearances

Welcome to Live365's Super Bowl 2024 recap! Last night (February 11), we saw several talented artists both on and off the field. Andra Day, Post Malone, and Reba McEntire handled pre-game songs, Usher gave a stellar halftime show performance, and artists like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Ice Spice, and Lana Del Rey could be seen in the stands.

With a chorus of singers behind her, Andra Day gave her rendition of "Lift Every Voice and Sing." After that, Post Malone came out with an acoustic guitar to perform "America The Beautiful." (Post would make another appearance later on in the broadcast after he appeared in a Bud Light commercial.)

Finally, country royalty Reba McEntire belted out the National Anthem. A giant American flag was held out on the field in front of her, and she made an effort to point at it while singing, "gave proof through the night that our flag was still there." Midway through the song, the CBS camera caught Chiefs All-Pro defensive lineman Chris Jones with tears running down his cheeks. After Reba's performance, airplanes flew over Allegiant Stadium.

Once the first and second quarters of the game were over, Usher's Halftime Show commenced. Several guest artists appeared to help him run through his greatest hits. Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Lil Jon, H.E.R., and Jermaine Dupri all got time in the spotlight during his show, which he performed amid dozens of dancers and gymnasts in sparkly getups and feathered wings.

After a red screen appeared telling viewers the show would be "rated U," Usher started his medley on a throne draped in a white cloak. He launched into classics like “U Don’t Have to Call,” “Superstar,” “Love in This,” “Burn,” “OMG,” and closed things off with "Yeah." Keys appeared on stage sitting at a red lacquered piano and sang her single “If I Ain’t Got You,” followed by a duet of “My Boo” – Keys and Usher’s hit from 2004. Singer-songwriter H.E.R. joined in later for a searing guitar solo, while Lil Jon and Ludacris appeared for a mashup of “Turn Down for What” and “Yeah!” At one point, Usher and his backup dancers effortlessly roller skated around the stage. As to be expected, Usher removed his shirt during his performance of “U Got It Bad.” There was even a moment where a marching band spelled out “USHER” on the field.

As for artist onlookers from the Allegiant Stadium seats, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton came to watch the game, also debuting a new song while at the #TikTokTailgate. Lady Gaga came to support San Francisco, rocking her old Super Bowl Halftime Show eye makeup for the game. Beyoncé and Jay-Z brought their daughters along to enjoy the event. It was a big night for Queen Bey, as she appeared in a gaudy Verizon commercial (where she "broke the internet" multiple times) and announced her next album during the broadcast.

But of course, no section had more energy than Taylor Swift's box. Swift brought along Ice Spice, Blake Lively, Lana Del Rey, and more to watch her boyfriend – Travis Kelce – play. It was giving "You Belong With Me" music video vibes as shots of Taylor cheering on Kelce were broadcast on television. After the Chiefs won in overtime, Swift came down to the field to congratulate Kelce. Cameras captured their fairytale-esque smooch as Taylor told him, "I'm so proud of you."
