For anyone looking to expand their vinyl collection with early material from The Strokes, you're in luck. The band has announced The Singles - Volume 01, a new vinyl box set collecting 7" singles of material from 2001-2006.
Along with singles from the group’s first three albums – Is This It (2001), Room on Fire (2003), and First Impressions of Earth (2006) – the collection will include B-sides, demos, and other rarities. It's set for release on February 24, 2023.
All ten singles will be pressed on black vinyl, with the artwork from each original release replicated in the package. Videos for all ten A-sides – including "Hard To Explain," "Last Nite," "Reptilia," "Juicebox," and "Heart In A Cage" – are also set to be released in high definition. You can pre-order The Singles - Volume 01 here.
Meanwhile, The Strokes recently featured in the Sundance flick Meet Me In The Bathroom: a documentary based on Lizzy Goodman’s 2017 book of the same name, which detailed the ’00s New York music scene. Their last album was 2020's The New Abnormal. Last year, it earned the group the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.
