Over the weekend, Saturday Night Live (December 3) put Nope actress, singer, and multi-hyphenate Keke Palmer in charge of hosting. During her debut on the sketch comedy show, she made a big announcement in her opening monologue: she's pregnant with her first child!
After taking the stage in an all-brown look with a long suit coat, Palmer addressed some recent pregnancy rumors.
"There's some rumors going around, people have been in my comments saying, 'Keke's having a baby, Keke's pregnant,' and I wanna set the record straight — I am!" she said, opening her coat to reveal her baby bump.
"I gotta say, though, it is bad when people on the internet spread rumors about you y'all, but it's even worse when they're correct. I mean, like, I was trying so hard to keep it on the down low, cause I got a lot of stuff going on, you know?" she joked. "But honestly this has been the biggest blessing, and I am so excited. Guys, I'm going to be a mom."
Palmer is expecting with her boyfriend Darius Daulton. The couple first went public with their relationship in October 2021, though they have mostly kept their romance private.
Besides the Jordan Peele film Nope debuting this year – a movie where Palmer plays the leading lady – the artist has also made strides with her music career in 2022. Namely, she released a follow-up to her 2007 song, "Bottoms Up 2.0," back in April. In 2020, she released two EPs: Virgo Tendencies, Pt. 1 and Virgo Tendencies, Pt. 2. She's also announced a compilation album called The Boss, but a release date has not been set.
