R&B pioneer Thundercat is finally preparing to release his follow-up album to 2020's It Is What It Is. His next LP is titled Distracted, and is set to be dropped April 3.
In addition to the announcement, Thundercat has shared the full tracklist for the record. While the single "Children of the Baked Potato (feat. Remi Wolf)" will not be included on this upcoming LP, his other single released in 2025, "I Wish I Didn't Waste Your Time," will be the seventh track on Distracted.

As for other songs and cameos: the single, “I Did This To Myself” with Lil Yachty will be included on the album, along with additional production from Kenny Beats, Flying Lotus, and the Lemon Twigs. Thundercat's 2023 collab with Tame Impala, "No More Lies," also has a spot on Distracted.
Furthermore, the album will feature “She Knows Too Much”- a previously unheard collaboration with Thundercat’s late friend Mac Miller - plus guest spots from A$AP Rocky, Channel Tres, and Willow.
According to Pitchfork, Distracted will continue the themes of grief explored in It Is What It Is, which was partially written about the sudden loss of Miller. “I don’t think the heartbreak ever stopped,” the bassist and singer wrote in a press release for Distracted. “If it ain’t a girl, it’s taxes. If it ain’t taxes, it’s World War III. If it ain’t World War III, it’s a new update to the phone.”
In other Thundercat news, the funk bassist finished up a Fall North American tour back in November 2025. He has since revealed new tour dates across Europe, Australia and New Zealand for 2026. You can find ticket info here.
