2019 Grammys Preview: What to Expect

The 61st Annual Grammy Awards are airing live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles tonight (Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019) on CBS at 8:00 pm ET/5:00 pm PT.

Hosted by Alicia Keys, the night will be filled with a variety of celebrity presenters and star-studded performances. Presenters include Kelsea Ballerini, Leon Bridges, Luke Combs, Charlie Wilson, Alessia Cara, Julian Edelman, Eve, John Mayer, Bob Newhart, Smokey Robinson, Swizz Beatz, Meghan Trainor, Kane Brown, South Korean pop sensation BTS, and Cedric The Entertainer. Actresses Nina Dobrev, Anna Kendrick, and Jada Pinkett Smith, and actor Wilmer Valderrama will be presenting as well.


As for performances, Camila Cabello, J Balvin, Young Thug, Ricky Martin, and Arturo Sandoval will open the show. The night will see performances from Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Brandi Carlile, Dan + Shay, H.E.R., Shawn Mendes, Kacey Musgraves, Travis Scott, Chloe x Halle, Janelle Monáe, and Mark Ronson. Collaboration performances include Post Malone with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Dua Lipa and St. Vincent.

There will also be a few tributes throughout the night. Yolanda Adams, Fantasia, and Andra Day will be honoring the legendary Aretha Franklin. Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris, and Little Big Town will be performing country star Dolly Parton's iconic hits in a Dolly Parton tribute. Dolly Parton will also be hitting the Grammy stage for the first time since 2001.

As the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Diana Ross will do a special 75th Diamond Diana birthday performance during the show as well.


The big awards of the night include Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. Check out the nominees for each award below:

There will be several locations to watch preshow events and red carpet footage. The Premiere Live Ceremony will be live streaming on GRAMMY.com at 3:30 pm ET. Shaggy will be hosting the preshow event and the first Grammy Awards of the day will be handed out. Also, Ángela Aguilar, Natalia Lafourcade, Sofi Tukker, and more will be performing.

The Red Carpet Live Stream on GRAMMY.com will begin at 5:00 pm ET. However, there will also be Live Red Carpet footage on E! at 6pm ET and on CBS at 7 pm ET.

Throught the night, GRAMMY.com will feature backstage footage from the show.
