Adam Lambert Named Celebrity Mentor for Queen Week on 'American Idol'

American Idol is having a "Queen Week" in an upcoming episode. Each of the top eight contestants will perform a song from the Queen catalog. Adam Lambert has been named the celebrity mentor for the week that is dedicated to honoring the iconic rock band.

This is a fitting role for Lambert as he has been touring as the frontman of Queen since 2011, and he got his start on American Idol where he finished as the season 8 runner-up. The now Queen frontman sang "Bohemian Rhapsody" for his audition to be on the show. He later sang with Queen in the season 8 finale.

Lambert will also perform on the season 17 finale, airing Sunday, May 19. "Queen Week" featuring Adam Lambert is set to air Sunday, April 28 at 8pm ET on ABC.
