Angel Olsen has announced her newest project, Whole New Mess, due out Aug. 28 via Jagjagwuar. Ahead of the release, the singer-songwriter also shared the music video for the album's title track.
The new album will be Olsen's first new material without any bandmates since her debut project, Half Way Home, in 2012. Whole New Mess features more intimate versions of nine songs from last year’s All Mirrors.
The stripped-down versions appear with slightly different titles, and they were recorded in October 2018 with help from producer Michael Harris at The Unknown, a church that was converted into a studio in Anacortes, Washington.
Whole New Mess is available for preorder here.
