BADBADNOTGOOD Prep New Album 'Talk Memory'

Canadian trio BADBADNOTGOOD have announced their first studio LP in five years. The album, called Talk Memory, will be out October 8 via XL in partnership with Innovative Leisure.

Talk Memory is the follow-up to the band's 2016 album IV. The new record will feature contributions from Arthur Verocai, Karriem Riggins, Terrace Martin, Laraaji, and harpist Brandee Younger. Virgil Abloh’s design firm Alaska-Alaska designed the trio’s album cover.

“It took a year or two of just living life to get to the place where the creative process was exciting again and once we actually went in to the studio it was the most concise recording and writing process we’ve ever had,” the band said in a statement. “We hope that the improvised studio performances bring the listener closer to our live experience.”

Along with the album announcement, the band also shared a new single, "Signal From the Noise." It is accompanied by a new music video directed by Duncan Loudon and starring Steve Stamp (People Just Do Nothing).

Besides their jazzy instrumental music, BADBADNOTGOOD is known for their co-producing work. In the late 2010s alone, the band co-produced songs for Freddie Gibbs, Kendrick Lamar ("LUST."), Daniel Caesar ("Get You"), Kali Uchis ("After the Storm feat. Tyler, the Creator and Bootsy Collins"), and Thundercat. They also often collaborate with fellow Canadian producers Frank Dukes and KAYTRANADA.

Talk Memory can be pre-ordered on vinyl, cassette, and CD - as well as pre-saved - here.
