The Apple-owned headphone brand co-founded by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, Beats by Dr. Dre, has announced a marketing and merchandising partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA). This partnership will make Beats the official headphone, wireless speaker, and audio partner of the NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, and USA Basketball.
Beats and the NBA have both expressed their excitement about the partnership. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said "Beats revolutionized the music industry and has become one of the most innovative and culturally influential brands in the world." Similarly, President of Beats, Luke Wood said "The NBA and its players have long been significant drivers of global culture." "This partnership with the NBA is the perfect alignment for Beats. It feels like coming home.”
Beats will be providing products to NBA players and during marquee events such as the NBA All-Star Game, the NBA and WNBA Drafts, and international games and exhibition tours. Beats is also planning to collaborate with NBA teams to launch NBA team-branded headphones as well as other audio products for fans.
Beats has already released a commercial featuring NBA stars LeBron James, Draymond Green, James Harden, Ben Simmons, Karl Anthony-Towns, and Jayson Tatum. Check out the commercial below.
