Beyoncé to Drop New Album 'Renaissance' This July

Queen Bey is officially back. After spending over a year and a half of recording in the studio and months of teasing a new album, Beyoncé has finally released big details about her next record. It's called Renaissance and it's out July 29.

Renaissance will be the singer's seventh studio album – her first in six years. It's also the follow-up to her critically-acclaimed project Lemonade, which was released in 2016 and is considered by critics to be one of the best albums of that year. It also came with an HBO film and received several GRAMMY nominations, winning two: Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Music Video for "Formation."

Beyoncé officially revealed news of a forthcoming album online with the words "act i … RENAISSANCE" and the release date of the album in her social media bios. The album is set to contain 16 tracks, but no further information nor the cover art have been unveiled. Beyoncé’s website also confirms there will be an album box set containing a CD, T-shirt, 28-page booklet, and mini poster.

Beyoncé first hinted at the upcoming arrival of the record when she removed the profile pictures from all of her social media accounts. Fans also noticed URLs and activity on Beyoncé’s website for “B7,” the code name for her seventh studio album.

Since Lemonade's release, Beyoncé has teamed up with husband Jay-Z for the Carters’ 2018 album Everything Is Love. She also contributed music and curated 2019’s The Lion King: The Gift. In 2020, she released the song “Black Parade”: a Juneteenth single that later was added to the deluxe edition of The Gift.

In 2021, Beyoncé released her single “Be Alive” for the film King Richard. At this year's Oscars, the song was nominated for Best Original Song and Beyoncé also performed the track. Most recently, she's appeared on the cover for British Vogue's July 2022 issue.
