Blondie and Z2 Comics have partnered up to create Against The Odds, a new graphic novel on the history of the New York punk and new wave band.
The book was illustrated by John McCrea and co-written by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, who wrote the 2013 relaunch of Harley Quinn for DC Comics. Against The Odds tells the story of the band's rise during the 1970s in Manhattan’s punk, fashion, and art communities. The comic book also takes inspiration from 10 songs from the band's catalog and the writers' experiences as Blondie fans.
The book is due out this fall and available for pre-order now. A number of editions are available, ranging from a softcover copy to a “Super Deluxe Edition,” which is limited edition and includes postcards, music, and more.
