BTS, Harry Styles, Paul McCartney, Keith Richards, and many more artists are offering up signed, rare, and otherwise unique collectibles at an upcoming charity auction hosted by Julien's and MusiCares.
The auction will take place in Beverly Hills as well as online on Sunday, January 30. It comes just before the 2022 Grammy Awards, which will take place on Monday, January 31.
Leading the auction is a collection of custom-made suits BTS wore during the 2021 Grammys when they performed "Dynamite." The collection has an estimate value set between $30,000 and $50,000. The K-pop group will also offer up a ’56 Epiphone Les Paul Pro signed by members RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, as well as a trio of rings from j-hope’s personal collection.
Meanwhile, Paul McCartney is contributing a Hofner B-Bass Hi Series violin bass guitar and Harry Styles is offering a Gibson ES-335 acoustic-electric. Styles is also giving away a signed copy of the Watermelon Sugar seven-inch, inscribed with the phrase “All my love to you, treat people with kindness." Additionally, three Polaroid-esque photos from the song’s music video shoot will be available to bid on.
As for Keith Richards, he is providing a signed ES-335, which will be auctioned off alongside a four-second video (in NFT form) of the Rolling Stones legend scribbling his signature on the guitar.
But that's not all. An original oil painting of Prince by Joni Mitchell - MusiCares upcoming Person Of The Year - is up for grabs, as well as two artworks from KISS’ Gene Simmons. There will also be contributions from several more artists, including Tom Petty, Chris Stapleton, U2’s Bono, and Ozzy Osbourne. Additionally, a mystery “special item” will be donated from the estate of the late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell.
