Center Stage on Live365 this week is Malcolm's Praise - "Great Gospel Music Always." We spoke with station manager Malcolm Phillips about their history with radio, their station's programming, and we got some music recommendations. Check out the interview below!
What made you get started in radio?
In 2008, I listened to this gospel music Live365 radio station in Philadelphia through iTunes.
What brought you to Live365?
I wanted to start a gospel radio station on the internet. I started with a friend on another platform where I had called into the radio station to begin the show. It didn't work out, so I left. I researched, and the Live365 platform is accessible for me, so I started on April 15, 2018. To run my station, I use a Tobii Dynavox I-16 computer and my left knee to control it.
What's your favorite part about running your own radio station?
My favorite part is uploading new gospel music.
Tell us about your station's programming. What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
The listeners will always expect new and old school gospel music as well as worship and praise when they click on Malcolm's Praise.
What's your favorite music memory/moment?
The Stellar Awards is my favorite part of the year to see all of the great gospel artists together.
Please list your top 5 or 10 songs.
