Doves to Release First New Album in 11 Years This September

U.K. indie rock band Doves will release their first new album since the band’s last LP, 2009’s Kingdoms of Rust, this September.

Entitled The Universal Want, the 10-track project has "the stamp of ‘the time’ all over it." In a statement, Jez Williams said, “Everything on the album is an echo. It’s an echo of what we were going through at the time. Getting back together, the Royal Albert Hall and everything else.”

So far, the band, which is comprised of Jimi Goodwin and brothers Andy and Jez Williams, has shared two songs from the album, the opening track “Carousels” and their latest release “Prisoners.”

The Universal Want is due out Sept. 11.
