Live365's "Featured Spotlight Station" this week is B97 "The BIG Hoss"! We spoke with Tony Raven about the station's setup, what listeners can expect to hear, and the station's favorite songs. Check out the interview below!
What brought you to Live365?
Live365 provides a great broadcast platform with easy access for the listeners.
What's your studio like?
The station uses Station Playlist broadcasting software. All of the DJs (Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, & Texas) broadcast remotely using SPL Remote Voice Tracker. The main studio is equipped with 2 Shure SM7B microphones and 2 DBX 286 vocal processors. The mixing board is a Mackie ProFX 12. Headphones are Shure SRH1540 and Sennheiser HD 660S with a Sterling multi-channel amplifier.
What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
Our format is a mixture of Today's Hit Country, 80s and 90s Country, and Classic Country from the 50s, 60s, and 70s.
Our listeners will hear a variety of live broadcasts including "The Retro Lunch Hour w/ Bob" (Noon - 80s & 90s Country), "The All-Request Drive @ 5 with Tony Raven," and "The Classic Country Jukebox w/Bob" (Saturday mornings at 10:00 AM - Classics from the 50s, 60s, & 70s).
What has been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?
I enjoy working with the B97 "On-Air" talent and interacting with the listeners.
What is the best concert you've ever attended, and why?
Rolling Stones in 1981 at The Super Dome in New Orleans. George Thorogood was the opening act.
What artist (dead or alive) would you love to see live, but haven't had the chance to see?
