Live365's "Featured Spotlight Station" this week is Lincoln's Oldies Station! We spoke with "Big Red" Ron Halvorson about the station's setup, what listeners can expect to hear, and the station's favorite songs. Check out the interview below!
What brought you to Live365?
I enjoyed the Christmas stations. That's what first brought me to Live365.
What's your studio like?
The Dan Sears Memorial Studio is small, but it works well. It includes a Lintech mixer board, BCD-1 mic, and Audio Technica headphones.
What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
Listeners will hear all the classic oldies, and great memories from the 50's through the 70's.
What has been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?
The feedback I get from all the wonderful listeners out there in radio land is the best part.
What is the best concert you've ever attended, and why?
The best concert I've ever attended was the Monkees 20th Anniversary Concert Tour in 1986. I saw The Grass Roots and Gary Puckett and The Union Gap at that concert as well.
What artist (dead or alive) would you love to see live, but haven't had the chance to see?
Elvis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones
We asked for some of the station's favorite songs. Here's what they had to say!
- Hey Jude - The Beatles
- Hound Dog - Elvis Presley
- Good Vibrations - The Beach Boys
- Joy To The World - Three Dog Night
- Whole Lot Of Shakin' Goin' On - Jerry Lee Lewis
