Joni Mitchell to Reissue Book of Handwritten Lyrics, Paintings, & Poems

In 1971, Joni Mitchell created 100 copies of Morning Glory on the Vine, a book of handwritten lyrics, poems, and watercolor paintings, as a holiday gift for a select group of her friends. That rare book will be available to the public for the first time on Oct. 22 via Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Morning Glory on the Vine will feature reproductions of Mitchell’s handwritten lyrics and poems, and over 30 full-color watercolor paintings, depicting landscapes, still-lifes, portraits of friends, self portraits, and abstracts. The new edition includes all of the original pages, several additional works that Mitchell intended to include at the time, and a new introduction penned by Mitchell herself.

To preorder Morning Glory on the Vine, see Mitchell’s site.
