Bob Marley Musical to Debut in London in 2021

Next year, the new musical based on Bob Marley’s story and music will debut in London.

Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Story features Marley’s music and the story largely uses the Lee Hall-written book of the same name, which took inspiration from Marley’s lyrics to deliver his personal story. The Dominic Cooke-directed show was produced by Playful Productions, Stage Play, and Trim the Wind, and Arinzé Kene will star in the production.

“Our father’s music means so much to so many people around the world, we’re beyond thrilled to be able to bring it to both fans and new audiences alike in a new way led by the stellar team of Lee Hall and Dominic Cooke, and starring the fantastic Arinzé,” Cedella Marley, the musician’s daughter, said in a statement.

Previews for Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Story begin in London at the Lyric Theatre on Feb. 6, 2021. Tickets go on sale on April 21 and you can sign up for presale access here.
