Featured Spotlight Station: Christian Oldies

Live365’s "Featured Spotlight Station" this week is Christian Oldies! We spoke with Gary Alan about their setup, what listeners can expect to hear, and the station’s favorite songs. Check out the interview below!

What brought you to Live365?

I had heard about a friend who was setting up his station, so that prompted me to start my own station.

What’s your studio like?

Our studio consists of Adobe Audition 2020 v 13.0.9, Windows 10, an Electro-Voice RE20 mic, and Sennheiser headphones.

What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?

Listeners can expect two decades of Christian music, with everything from the early days of Jesus music to the early days of contemporary Christian music, folk to MOR (middle of the road), and light contemporary to rock. Artists heard on Christian Oldies include: Judy Collins, Love Song, Amy Grant, David Meece, DeGarmo & Key, Resurrection Band, Bob Dylan, The Way, Janny Grine, Noel Paul Stookey, Larry Norman, Petra, The Imperials, and many more.

What has been your favorite moment as a DJ/Station Manager so far?

It was really exciting to upload over 500 songs to my station, knowing that listeners would be able to hear a lot of music that they hadn’t heard in many years!

What is the best concert you’ve ever attended, and why?

Leon Patillo live in Redding, California in 1984 with my teenage daughter. Rockin’ out to "J.E.S.U.S." with her was a highlight of my life.

What artist (dead or alive) would you love to see live, but haven’t had the chance to?

The Imperials from the late 70s, which included Russ Taff, Armond Morales, Jim Murray, and David Will.

We asked for some of the station’s favorite songs. Here’s what they had to say!
