Metallica are set to release their new live album and concert film Metallica and San Francisco Symphony: S&M2 this August.
S&M2 documents the band's two shows at San Francisco’s Chase Center with the San Francisco Symphony in September 2019. The shows marked the 20th anniversary of their 1999 live album S&M.
The S&M2 concert film was originally screened in theaters worldwide for one night only in October 2019. Now, the film has been re-edited and will be available with the album in a number of different formats. S&M2 will be released as a digital album, 4LP vinyl, 2CD, DVD, Blu-ray, and a limited edition color vinyl 4LP + 2CD + Blu-ray Deluxe Box featuring sheet music, guitar picks, and more.
S&M2 is due out Aug. 28 and available for preorder now. Ahead of the release, the videos of "All Within My Hands" and "Nothing Else Matters" have been posted on the band's YouTube channel.
