Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger and Foo Fighters leader Dave Grohl teamed up for a new track called "Eazy Sleazy," a satirical song about pandemic life.
The tongue-in-cheek rock song includes lyrics like “Shooting the vaccine/Bill Gates is in my bloodstream/It’s mind control/The Earth is flat and cold,” and reflects on a world filled with zoom calls, cancelled tours, fake applause at sporting events, and TikTok dances.
“It’s a song that I wrote about coming out of lockdown, with some much needed optimism,” Mick Jagger said in a press release. “Thanks to Dave Grohl for jumping on drums, bass and guitar, it was a lot of fun working with him.”
Grohl added, “It’s hard to put into words what recording this song with Sir Mick means to me. It’s beyond a dream come true. Just when I thought life couldn’t get any crazier… and it’s the song of the summer, without a doubt!!”
Besides collaborating together, both Jagger and Grohl have been busy with their own projects. The Rolling Stones returned last year with the song “Living in a Ghost Town.” The band also reissued their 1973 album Goats Head Soup.
Recently, Grohl released a trailer for What Drives Us, his new film exploring what motivates musicians to persevere with their careers when the odds are stacked against them. He also just announced the publication of a new memoir called The Storyteller.
