The wait is finally over. We now have our first teaser trailer of the long-anticipated Bob Dylan movie, A Complete Unknown. The clip showcases Timothée Chalamet as Dylan, and, as promised, he does his own singing.
The trailer starts with Pete Seeger (played by Edward Norton) introducing Bob Dylan to an audience. We then get a snippet of Timothée Chalamet giving his rendition of “A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall.” Shots of the movie play over Chalamet's vocals. The teaser also features Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo and Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez.

A Complete Unknown, directed by James Mangold, hits theaters in December. The movie tells the story of Dylan’s early years in New York, his growing popularity, and his famous 1965 Newport Folk Festival performance where he “went electric.”
The film has been in production since pandemic times. It was originally titled Going Electric, and was supposed to film around 2020 only to be stunted by COVID-19 and problems with finding period-specific costumes and locations. A Complete Unknown finally began shooting in March 2024. It was shot in New York and New Jersey, and paparazzi photos of Chalamet went viral across social media.
