New Box Set to Collect Johnny Cash’s 80s and 90s Records

This April, Johnny Cash’s records from the 80s and 90s will be released as a seven-disc box set titled The Complete Mercury Recordings 1986-1991. A 24-song “best of” collection, Easy Rider: The Best of the Mercury Recordings, will also be released as a single CD, double LP, and digital download.

Available as a 7CD or 7LP set on 180-gram vinyl, the set collects all six albums from Cash's 5 years with Mercury Records: Class of '55: Memphis Rock & Roll Homecoming (1986), Johnny Cash Is Coming to Town (1987), Water from the Wells of Home (1988), Classic Cash: Hall of Fame Series (1988), Boom Chicka Boom (1990), and The Mystery of Life (1991).

The set will come with brand new liner notes by music writer Scott Schinder. This will be the first time Cash's stint with Mercury Records has been revisited.

The Complete Mercury Recordings 1986-1991 and Easy Rider: The Best of the Mercury Recordings are currently available for preorder and will be released April 24.
