After releasing a silly video skit teasing an upcoming tour, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have disclosed more information about the tour's stops, dates, and supporting acts.
The 32-city journey kicks off June 4 in Seville, Spain, and will include a star-studded lineup of special guests, such as The Strokes, Beck, HAIM, St. Vincent, Anderson .Paak, and A$AP Rocky. Thundercat and King Princess will open on select dates.
In July, the band will begin their North American leg of the tour. Some of the numerous cities include Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Toronto, Miami, and Philadelphia. Tickets for the tour go on sale October 15 and more information can be found here. The pre-sale for North American dates begins October 9 at 10am local time, while the pre-sale for remaining dates starts on October 13 at 10am local time.
In December 2019, the band announced that guitarist John Frusciante was re-joining the group, taking his spot back from Josh Klinghoffer after a decade of service. This tour will mark Frusciante's first international trek with the group in 15 years. One of the last times the newly reunited group performed together was last February, at a memorial concert assembled by the Tony Hawk Foundation.
In addition to including the 2022 tour locations on their website, Red Hot Chili Peppers have released another informative skit featuring - you guessed it - the band's newsroom alter-egos. The band members list off the tour's locations in the 90-second clip.
