Soccer Mommy is getting ready to release Karaoke Night, a new covers EP that arrives September 22. To promote the upcoming project, she's released her version of Taylor Swift's "I'm Only Me When I'm With You" as a single.
"I'm Only Me When I'm With You" was originally released in 2006 as part of Swift's self-titled debut album. Soccer Mommy's version takes the country song in a more alternative direction.

“I really wanted to cover this song because it’s one of my favorites from Taylor’s first album,” Sophie Allison said in a statement. “I listened to that record so much when I was a kid and I think it had a lot of influence on me then.”
Karaoke Night also includes her previously released version of “Soak Up the Sun," plus takes on songs by R.E.M., Pavement, and Slowdive. Soccer Mommy’s last album, Sometimes, Forever, arrived last year. She just finished her gig as the opening act for Maggie Rogers on the artist's Summer of '23 Tour.
