As a reminder, I changed the direction of this column to focus on one indie/small label artist each month. This month that artist is Remerge Band. Listen to the songs below, and if you like some of their music, add it, let me know by filling out a short 5-question survey and as a collective, let's all feature songs by Remerge Band in September and see if we can help them gain some traction.
In the short survey, I ask for optional comments. I may use some of them in future month's columns/blogs (you and your station/show will get credited). Remember, however, that my goal is recommending, not reviewing. So only recommendations will be eligible to be in future columns/blogs. And based on the due date for my column there may be a two month lag in many of comments I include in my column.
If you missed last month's column/blog, the artist was Hegarty and you can read the column and listen to their music on this page.
And there has been one early survey completed with a comment regarding Hegarty's music:
“Its a clean, smooth sound. Easy on the ears with flow. Good crossover. “
From Richard D - Never Ending Radio Show (.com stream only)
The show added Hegarty music and has or will contact the band to foster a relationship.
Now onto Remerge Band. First a little about the band. Remerge Band is Melody Stuart and Tia Green. The two talented woman met at a music meetup in South Florida. And while they have songs crossing multiple genres (including instrumentals ideal for new age radio stations), the songs I'm focusing on in this column are alternative and adult alternative songs – which is their most current genre. They have released four albums, and currently have some singles that I'm sure will end up on a fifth album. Below are some of my favorites from each release, giving more focus to their newer releases. (You can listen to all songs on their four albums in the Music tab here.)
Note: All links cleared with Melody Stuart before publishing.
If you add them, let them know, that can start a relationship between your station/show and them.
Here are two recent singles:
“Rainbows & Rain”
“Cherry Girl”
Here are two songs from their latest album Past Tense!:
The first song listed is my current favorite song of theirs. The album also includes an excellent cover of a deep album cut from Al Stewart (“What's Going On”).
“Leaving Zombie Land”
“LamEnt (Away Away)”
Here are two songs from their third release, Connect the Dots:
“Should Have Been Gone”
“Went to a Wedding”
Here is my favorite song from their second album Pieces of Us:
“If You're Pretty”
And finally, my favorite song from their initial release, Clean Slate:
FYI: This album includes my favorite instrumental from the band that is an ideal fit for new age stations, “Riding the Wave.”
“I Can't Believe It”
