Not only did HBO Max's Friends: The Reunion bring back Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer - it also featured some very special guests and performances. One particular performance stood out from the rest: a Lady Gaga and Lisa Kudrow duet of "Smelly Cat."

The fan-favorite song, made popular by Kudrow's zany character Phoebe Buffay, delighted audiences anew when the actress sat down in Central Perk to deliver another acoustic performance. "Yeah, don't get too excited. I haven't done this in a long time," Kudrow warned the excited crowd before she began playing.
Halfway through the song, Lady Gaga appeared dressed in a very Phoebe-approved outfit (a bright orange and red coat complete with two messy buns). "You need some help?" she asked before hopping on the couch with Kudrow, acoustic guitar already in hand. "I love 'Smelly Cat!' It's one of my favorite songs. You mind if I take 'Smelly Cat' for a spin?"
After Lady Gaga gave a powerhouse belt of the song's chorus, the two actresses sang a verse together - before a choir in blue robes barged in to help complete the tune.
Lady Gaga then told Lisa Kudrow how much Phoebe Buffay meant to her. "Thank you so much for being the person for all of us on Friends that was the -- I don't know if this is the right way to say it -- but the different one, or the one that was really herself."
This wasn't the first time Kudrow dueted "Smelly Cat" with a celebrity guest. Kudrow performed it with Taylor Swift in 2015 during one of Swift's concerts at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Midway through the song, Kudrow told Swift, “I’m sorry. That was good, but you have to really feel the lyrics.”
Gaga wasn't the only big star to make a guest appearance on Friends: The Reunion. In addition to guest stars from years past, Justin Bieber participated in the fashion show highlighting the beloved NBC sitcom's memorable outfits. Bieber - who claims to watch Friends with his wife every night before bed - dressed up as "Spud-nik," Ross's potato Halloween costume from season eight.
Additionally, South Korean septet BTS made a video appearance. RM shared, "My mom bought the DVDs of the whole series when I was in elementary school. Friends really had a big hand in teaching me English. And the show really taught me the things about life and true friendship."
The K-pop group then shouted together, "We love Friends!"
