ZZ Top Release Trailer for New Documentary 'ZZ Top: That Little Ol’ Band From Texas'

The new trailer for the ZZ Top documentary, ZZ Top: That Little Ol’ Band From Texas, is here. Directed by Sam Dunn, the documentary will premiere Aug. 13 at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. The film is planned to make its way to select cities later this fall.

Featuring interviews with all three members, Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard, and Dusty Hill, the documentary will detail ZZ Top’s career from an oddball blues rock trio in Houston, Texas to international superstars by the early 80s. Never-before-seen archival footage, animation, and a special performance at the oldest dance hall in Texas, Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, will also be included in the film.

The trailer teases interviews with famous ZZ Top fans, including Josh Homme and Billy Bob Thornton, and the discussion of ZZ Top's journey to the mainstream and how they've become one of the longest surviving bands alive.

ZZ Top will be embarking on a lengthy U.S. tour this summer to celebrate their 50th anniversary as a band. Beginning Aug. 16 in Ridgefield, WA and ending on Oct. 20 in West Palm Beach, FL, the tour will take the band to 34 cities across the U.S.
