Beck and Lizzo Announced as SXSW 2022 Keynote Speakers

With SXSW less than a month away, the festival recently announced its new class of keynote and featured speakers: which includes music icons Beck and Lizzo.

As keynote speakers, Beck and Lizzo will give an hour presentation for one day only to festival attendees. They are joined by best-selling author Neal Stephenson, award-winning director, producer, and immersive storyteller Celine Tricart, Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McHill Johnson, and Brentwood Growth Partners Founder Reggie Fils-Aimé - who have also been named as this year's keynote speakers.

Featured speakers at the festival include Sara Bareilles, BEEPLE, the cast of The Boys, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Mark Cuban, Greg Daniels, James Ellroy, Falon Fatemi, Scott Galloway, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Sec. Deb Haaland, Tristan Harris, Frances Haugen, Ethan Hawke, Noah Hawley, Rashida Jones, Donna Langley, Ben McKenzie, Jonathan Van Ness, Bob Odenkirk, Guy Raz, Chrissy Teigen, Noah Oppenheim, Busy Philipps, Al Roker, Tye Sheridan, Jim VandeHei, Pam Wasserstein, and many more.

As always, the event will also include many musical performances from a massive, eclectic lineup of artists from around the world. Performers include KT Tunstall, Shamir, Pip Blom, Maxo Kream, Horsegirl, Ezra Furman, and many more.

SXSW will happen March 11-20 in Austin, Texas. The 2022 edition will be the return of SXSW in person, as the 2020 event was canceled and the 2021 festival was virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In related news, Beck was among the recently announced 2022 nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. As for Lizzo, the three-time Grammy Award-winning artist is now an executive producer of the unscripted show Watch Out for the Big Grrrls. The series is set to premiere this spring on Amazon Prime Video. Lizzo's most recent music release was her Cardi B collaboration “Rumors,” which was her first new music in two years.
