boygenius Drop Music Video for New Song 'Not Strong Enough'

Supergroup boygenius – comprised of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus – have dropped a self-made music video for their new song "Not Strong Enough." The track is the fourth single from their upcoming debut album, The Record.

The visual sees Baker, Bridgers, and Dacus having fun at an amusement park, touring a museum, and playing some mini golf. After the filming for the video was done, the footage was edited by Bridgers' brother, Jackson. It is the first official music video the trio has released.

In an interview for Rolling Stone, Phoebe Bridgers talked about the song’s lyrical content. "Being like, ‘I’m not strong enough to show up for you. I can’t be the partner that you want me to be.’ But also being like, ‘I’m too f----d up. I’m unknowable in some deep way!’" she explained. "Self-hatred is a god complex sometimes, where you think you’re the most f----d-up person who’s ever lived. Straight up, you’re not. And it can make people behave really selfishly, and I love each of our interpretations of that concept.”

"Not Strong Enough" follows the singles “$20,” “Emily I’m Sorry,” and “True Blue.” The new album, which comes after 2018’s Boygenius EP, will be out March 31.

In other boygenius news, the band just performed at the Tibet House US Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City yesterday (March 1). Next month, the group will appear at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
