Bruce Springsteen Lands as First Artist with Top 5 Album in Each of Last Six Decades

Bruce Springsteen’s new album Letter to You has officially made him the first artist with a Billboard Top 5 album in each of the last six decades (1970s, ‘80s, ‘90s, 2000s, ‘10s, and ‘20s).

Billboard announced the news today when they revealed that Letter to You debuted at No. 2 on the new Billboard 200 chart.

In all, Springsteen has 21 Top 5 albums under his belt: 1975’s Born to Run (No. 3), 1978’s Darkness on the Edge of Town (No. 5), 1980’s The River (No. 1), 1982’s Nebraska (No. 3), 1984’s Born in the U.S.A. (No. 1), 1986’s Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band 1975-1985 (No. 1), 1987’s Tunnel of Love (No. 1), 1992’s Human Touch (No. 2) and Lucky Town (No. 3 ), 1995’s Greatest Hits (No. 1), 2001’s Live in New York City (No. 5), 2002’s The Rising (No. 1), 2005’s Devils & Dust (No. 1), 2006’s We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions (No. 3), 2007’s Magic (No. 1), 2009’s Working On a Dream (No. 1), 2012’s Wrecking Ball (No. 1), 2014’s High Hopes (No. 1), 2016’s Chapter and Verse (No. 5 ), 2019’s Western Stars (No. 2), and 2020's Letter to You (No. 2).
