Center Stage on Live365 this week is Muze Radio, playing EVERYTHING A-Z. We spoke with station manager Chris Hopping about their history with radio, their station's programming, and we got some music recommendations. Check out the interview below!
What made you get started in radio?
Radio personalities Casey Kasem and Rick Dees, and the song "American Pie"
What brought you to Live365?
Live365 has all the licensing I needed and I didn't have to figure out any of the details.
What's your favorite part about running your own radio station?
ALL OF IT.
Tell us about your station's programming. What can listeners expect when they tune in to your station?
Muze Radio is the place that plays everything - rock, jazz, country, independent artists, and comedy - from the 50s to today! It's what you want to hear when you want to hear it. NO ADS & FREE FOR EVERYONE. With our live group chatroom, on-air DJs play your requests and chat with you while you chat with new and old friends from around the world. Where else would you want to be? :D
Name one artist that you play on your station that is underrated in your opinion.
What's your favorite music memory/moment?
I have a great personal memory of "Stairway to Heaven" being played on the guitar.
Please list your top 5 or 10 songs, with a brief reason why the songs made your list.
"Messed Up Masterpiece" - Neoni
This is one of the best ways to say we all have our flaws, but they are what make us masterpieces.
"Different Drummer" - Jennifer Mlott
How boring would life be if we were all the same?
"I Remember You" - Skid Row
This song will always have a special place in my life.
"The Sound Of Silence" - Disturbed
Best cover song ever.
"Zombie" - Bad Wolves
The best remake that should have been.
"Blue On Black (feat. Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Brantley Gilbert, & Brian May)" - Five Finger Death Punch
Well, I just can't say enough about this version of the song, it's just EPIC.
