Charli XCX Will Star in Her Own A24 Movie, 'The Moment'

If you saw the recent episode of SNL she hosted, you know Charli XCX has been working on her acting chops lately. Now, the British pop star will star in a new A24 movie that she came up with, Variety reports.

The Moment is the debut project from her Studio365 production company, as well as the directorial debut of Aidan Zamiri. PC Music founder and longtime Charli XCX collaborator A. G. Cook will score the film.

According to a source close to Live365, casting for the film is currently underway. Auditions are being handled by veteran casting director Jennifer Venditti (Uncut Gems, Euphoria, The Idol, Good Time). Around January 17, breakdowns were put out for roles such as "Ana," "Celeste," and "Smiling Girl." Besides those characters and Charli XCX's star power, no other information is known about casting.

Other details about the film – including a plot – are sparse, but Zamiri and Bertie Brandes were the ones who turned Charli XCX’s idea for The Moment into a screenplay. The Moment is the latest in a string of movie reveals from the pop star, including A24’s Mother Mary, Gregg Araki’s drama I Want Your Sex, the horror remake Faces of Death, and a Romain Gavras film titled Sacrifice.

In other Charli XCX news, the artist will be playing some shows in Australia throughout February, then heading to Mexico and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival in April. After that, she'll play a United States arena tour to support her hit album, Brat, then perform more cross Europe in the summer. Speaking of Brat, the LP is currently nominated for Album of the Year at the 2025 Grammy Awards. She also has 7 other nominations this year, including nods for Record of the Year ("360"), Best Pop Solo Performance ("Apple"), and Best Music Video ("360"). She's also received 5 nominations at the 2025 Brit Awards, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year.
