After slowly gaining momentum on international music charts these last couple of days, Jung Kook's song "Seven" has finally topped the Billboard Hot 100.
The new single, which was released on July 14, makes Jung Kook the second member of BTS with a Hot 100 leader. It comes after Jimin’s “Like Crazy” launched to #1 in April. "Seven" is also Latto's first #1 song – she has a feature within a chorus and third verse of the song.

Before "Seven," Jung Kook had two songs that charted on the Hot 100 in 2022: Charlie Puth’s “Left and Right,” featuring Jung Kook, hit #22 , after Jung Kook’s own “Stay Alive” spent a week on the list at #95 February. Jung Kook has also made history by becoming the first BTS member to earn a solo #1 on the Billboard Global Charts.
Taking to Instagram on Monday evening, Billboard shared the chart and wrote, "The Hot 100 top 10 (chart dated July 29, 2023)." Jung Kook posted a response to Weverse early on Tuesday. As translated by Twitter user @BTStranslation_, he said, “Let's go even higher."
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Latto opened up about collaborating with Jung Kook and their song's monster success. "It literally has been so surreal witnessing his fanbase and how much they support him — it's literally artist goals. I was so shocked," she said. "I'm like, 'Are you sure you want me?' I felt so much pressure to do it, but I was like, 'You know what? He reached out to me for a reason. Let me just go in there and do what I do best.' To see everybody's reaction to my verse and how much they love it, it's so fulfilling. Hopefully I get to go to Korea soon."
To celebrate the release of his new song, the K-pop band member performed at Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series last week. During his Central Park set, Jung Kook played "Seven," as well as "Euphoria," a fan-favorite Jung Kook track from BTS's 2018's album Love Yourself: Answer; and the group's 2020 smash hit "Dynamite."
