Australian indie rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have announced a 2022 world tour in support of their latest album Butterfly 3000.
Throughout the extensive tour, the band will be supported by Amyl and the Sniffers, Spellling, DJ Crenshaw, Leah Senior, and the Murlocs. After playing a series of shows in December at the Princess Theater in Australia, the tour will kick off March 19 at Lollapalooza Argentina. From there, they'll head to Brazil and Colombia before playing United States shows in April.
Next, the band will play shows all across Europe from May to August, making a quick stop in Miami June 18 to play at Space Park. The group will make an official return to North America in October, where they'll play 19 shows across the U.S. West Coast and Canada until Halloween. The North American dates include several "three-hour marathon sets," two of which will take place at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
KGLW released their 18th studio album Butterfly 3000 back in June. The LP went on to peak at #2 on Australian album charts. To support the album, the group was scheduled to perform at Bonnaroo this year, but had to drop out due to the “logistics” of rescheduling their original 2021 tour. The festival was eventually canceled due to flooding from Hurricane Ida.
