The second Joker movie has currently been filming in the tri-state area. Yesterday (February 14), Lady Gaga shared a first-look image of her character alongside Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur Fleck. It is not confirmed, but likely she will be playing the role of Harley Quinn in the upcoming Todd Phillips–directed sequel.
Lady Gaga shared the photo on her Instagram page. The romantic still shows her looking infatuated with Phoenix's Joker, holding his head in her hands and her eyes wide. Joker: Folie à Deux is currently set for an October 4, 2024 theatrical release.
The first Joker was nominated for the 2020 Academy Award for Best Picture, and Phoenix won Best Actor for his portrayal of Arthur Fleck. Hildur Guðnadóttir won multiple awards for her score, notably winning the Oscar and the Golden Globe for Best Original Score, as well as the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.
Gaga is currently up for Best Original Song at this year’s Oscars for Top Gun: Maverick’s “Hold My Hand.” Her last big film role was starring as Patrizia Reggiani in Ridley Scott's House of Gucci. Other notable roles from the singer include Ally in A Star Is Born (for which she was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar), and The Countess in the fifth season of American Horror Story.
