We finally have more details about Kid Cudi's long-awaited animated series. It's called Entergalactic and will hit Netflix on Friday, September 30.
Years ago, Cudi announced he was making the animated Netflix series and an accompanying album. Now, Cudi and Netflix have shared images from the show as well as the cast, which includes Jessica Williams, Timothée Chalamet, Ty Dolla $ign, Teyana Taylor, 070 Shake, Vanessa Hudgens, Macaulay Culkin, and Jaden Smith.
The show follows a young artist named Jabari (voiced by Cudi) as he navigates love and success in New York. The series is directed by Fletcher Moules, written by Ian Edelman and Maurice Williams, and executive produced by Kenya Barris, Kid Cudi, Karina Manashil, Dennis Cummings, Moules, Edelman, and Williams.
While the date announcement teaser video for the show doesn’t tell much about the plot, it does reveal Jabari, the artist in question, lying on a sofa and smoking a blunt – the New York skyline visible in the background. It also reveals a montage of several other clips, showing off the series' gorgeous visuals in the process.
As for the Entergalactic album, a new song from the project was recently released. Last Friday, Cudi dropped the single “Do What I Want.” According to a press release, the full Entergalactic album is coming this fall.
In other Kid Cudi news, the rapper will be doing more acting soon, as it was announced in April he will be joining John Woo to work on the action thriller Silent Night. Cudi released his last album, Man on the Moon III: The Chosen, in 2020.
