For the second week in a row, Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby have released a new single for fans.
The track, "Bussin," follows the pair's last drop “Do We Have a Problem?” which was released on February 4. The newest song was produced by DJ Tizz and Swaggyono and includes writing credits from Finesse and Joshua Goods.
The song was previewed with a snippet shown at the end of the “Do We Have A Problem?” official music video. A couple days later, on February 7, Nicki formally announced the song’s release date on Twitter, revealing the official cover art along with a pre-save link for the track.
On January 31, during an Instagram Live, Nicki revealed how and why "Bussin" was released.
"When Lil Baby and I did the first song ("Do We Have a Problem?"), it wasn’t our favorite song," she said to viewers. "It wasn’t either of our favorite songs, so [we] ended up doing another song, but then when we did, the other song grew on us, grew on everybody and we both decided like, 'I don’t know if you could put out just one, they [are] both so magical,' so what I will say is you guys might be in for a real special treat."
"Bussin" is set to be a part of Nicki's upcoming studio album, which is expected to be released sometime this year. Her last album was 2018's Queen. As for Lil Baby, the rapper recently followed his 2020 solo record My Turn with the 2021 Lil Durk collaboration The Voice of the Heroes.
