Scott Stapp Releases New Single ‘The Purpose for Pain’ & Summer Tour Dates

Creed frontman Scott Stapp recently released the first single from his upcoming solo album The Space Between the Shadows, his first solo LP since 2013.

Titled "The Purpose of Pain," Stapp reflects on the past few years of his life, which have included addiction and depression.

“‘Purpose for Pain’ is about seeking a higher meaning, a spiritual mentality when dealing with our struggles and life’s painful moments,” Stapp said in a statement.

“There are unexplainable, dark times that everyone goes through, and that pain is real. If we can dig deep and hold on to hope during the most difficult situations, believing there is a purpose waiting for us on the others side, we can find meaning and clarity that gives us the strength to keep fighting.”

The Space Between the Shadows is set to be released in July via Napalm Records.

In support of the album, Stapp has also announced a summer tour that is currently set to begin on June 20 in Oshkosh, WI and end on Aug. 2 in Boston, MA. Tickets for the first leg of the tour go on sale Monday, March 25 on Ticketmaster.
