Skrillex Surprise Drops New Album 'Don’t Get Too Close'

We knew we'd be getting a double album from Skrillex soon, but what we didn't know is that he'd be dropping both records so close to each other. After sharing the LP Quest for Fire on February 17, the dubstep DJ followed it up with the album Don't Get Too Close – released the very next day.

The latest record features guest contributions from Yung Lean, Bladee, Chief Keef, Justin Bieber, PinkPantheress, Trippie Redd, Bibi Bourelly, Kid Cudi, and more. In January, Skrillex shared the the album’s title track “Don’t Get Too Close” (with Bibi Bourelly), as well as the singles “Way Back” (with PinkPantheress and Trippie Redd) and “Real Spring” (with Bladee).

As for other tracks, Quest for Fire includes the Missy Elliott and Mr. Oizo joint “RATATA,” as well as collaborations with Porter Robinson, Pete Wentz, Aluna, Bibi Bourelly, and Beam, among others. It also features the singles “Butterflies” (with Starrah and Four Tet), “Too Bizarre” (with Swae Lee and Siiickbrain), “Supersonic (My Existence)” (with Noisia, Josh Pan, and 100 gecs’ Dylan Brady), “Leave Me Like This” (with Bobby Raps), “Xena” (with Nai Barghouti), and the hit song “Rumble” (with Fred Again.. and Flowdan).

The new LPs are Skrillex's first since his debut studio album Recess in 2014. Since then, he's also put out the 2019 EP Show Tracks and used his producing skills to collaborate with the likes of Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Ty Dolla $ign, 100 Gecs, and many more.
