Sonic Youth Release 1993 Live Album ‘Blastic Scene’ as Latest Archival Drop

Sonic Youth have been releasing archival material for the last few months and their latest drop is Blastic Scene (Live in Lisbon 1993) on Bandcamp.

Although they disbanded in 2011, since March 2020, the band has been releasing live albums from throughout their career on Bandcamp. Drummer Steve Shelley oversees their vaults in New Jersey and has been taking the time go through everything during this time of self-isolation due to COVID-19.

Some shows that have been released include Live At CBGB's 1988; Daydream Nation Live in Glasgow, Scotland 2007; Live At The Warfield 1993; and Live In Brooklyn 2011, which was the band's last show in the U.S.

The band's next release will be a live show from June 1990 in Irvine, California.
