The Chicks to Embark on 2022 North American Tour

Country legends The Chicks have announced a summer North American tour. It will be their first time out on the road with their new name (they were formerly known as The Dixie Chicks).

The tour will span 27 cities and kick off on June 14 in St. Louis, Missouri. They will make stops in Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Boston, Los Angeles, Denver, and more, before concluding in George, Washington on Aug. 13. Patty Griffin will support most dates, with Jenny Lewis opening a few shows in July. Tickets go on sale on Friday, March 4 at 10am local time. You can find more info on the trio's website.

The trek will mark The Chicks' first tour since they released Gaslighter in July 2020. That album was the long-awaited follow-up to 2006’s Taking the Long Way.

“While we were recording the ‘Gaslighter’ album, I was constantly picturing performing all of those songs on tour,” band member Martie Maguire said in a statement. “The ultimate payoff is always the live show for us.”

Emily Strayer added, “What I have missed the most about touring is the first couple minutes of every show. The house lights going dark, the roar of the crowd and the opening song pumping through the PA. I think we’ve all missed being connected through live music!”

Besides their own tour, The Chicks are set to appear at Bonnaroo alongside J. Cole, Tool, Stevie Nicks, and more in June.
