As a reminder, I changed the direction of this column to focus on one indie/small label artist each month. This month that artist is Radio Drive. Listen to the songs below, and if you like some of their music, add it, let me know by filling out this short 5 question survey and as a collective, let's all feature songs by Radio Drive in October and see if we can help them gain some traction.
In the short survey I will ask for optional comments. I may use some of them in future month's columns/blogs (you and your station/show will get credited). Remember, however, that my goal is recommending, not reviewing. So only recommendations will be eligible to be in future columns/blogs. And based on the due date for my column there may be a two to three month lag in many of comments I include in my column.
If you missed prior months' columns/blogs, you can listen to the music and still submit to the coordinating surveys linked:
Now onto Radio Drive. First a little about the band: Radio Drive is an alternative rock band featuring Kevin Gullickson. Kevin’s music has landed on charts on indie stations around the world, including the U.S., Canada, Germany, the U.K., and the South Pacific. His music has been used on shows airing on Animal Planet, National Geographic, Comedy Central, Fox Channels, History Channel, Spike TV, and Discovery Channel in the U.S. and TV programs in England, Mexico, New Zealand, and Australia.
You can find the band on Facebook here. If you add them, let them know – that can start a relationship between your station/show and the band.
Before I get into the band's deep catalog of excellent music, I want to highlight a song that is one of my favorites by any artist:
“One Life to Give”
Here is their latest single:
“Cast Out Your Light”
Other gems:
“What Went Wrong”
“Be Yourself Tonight”
“Let My Love Be the Proof”
“Who You Are” (2022 Remix)
“Never”
(Note there is also a 2022 remix version of this song.)
