If your a fan of Stephen Lee Bruner, you know he has a tendency to play live in the fall. In 2021 and 2022, he played autumn North American shows in support of his 2020 Grammy-winning record, It Is What It Is. Thundercat has not released any new LPs since that project. Instead, he's been reissuing albums from his past catalog - including a special 10th-anniversary version of Apocalypse that rolled out in 2023.
Nevertheless, there’s still plenty of new music with his stamp on it. Thundercat has stayed busy joining Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker for the single “No More Lies,” and collaborating with other artists like Vic Mensa, Kaytranada, Gorillaz, and Haim. He appeared in the music video for Kendrick Lamar's hit "Not Like Us," and also recorded a short track on behalf of Listerine to promote the company’s campaign on reducing racial disparities in dental health. Last year, he joined up with the cast of Yo Gabba Gabba! for a special joint Tiny Desk Concert, and he recently joined forces with MxNxSTxR, Destructo, and Channel Tres on the track “What You Need.”
