Vince Staples Announces Album Release Date & Shares New Single 'ROSE STREET'

Vince Staples has shared that his upcoming album Ramona Park Broke My Heart will be released on April 8. It will be the follow-up to his 2021 self-titled record.

Ramona Park Broke My Heart will feature Staples’ recent Mustard collaboration “MAGIC,” which he previously said defines the project as a whole. Staples has also noted that he made his last two albums (Vince Staples and Ramona Park Broke My Heart) around the same time.

“I was in a similar state of mind. I’m still working through things and the questions that life poses. This album will make even more sense if you heard the previous one,” he said in a statement.

Ahead of the release of his fifth studio album, Vince Staples has shared a new single, “ROSE STREET.” It is accompanied by a short visual that eventually pans to the Long Beach rapper looking out at the Pacific Ocean. It was directed by Staples and C. Blacksmith.

Additionally, Staples has shared the artwork for Ramona Park Broke My Heart. He unveiled the cover art on social media alongside a message that readS: “I am often told the lie that life is what you make it. For over a decade, most of my work has been an anthology of what I believed to be home. Now I’ve realized that it reaches beyond location.”

He continued, “I have been exploring the utility of home. Security. Comfort. Meaning. The answer. The excuse. To outgrow is to love blindly no longer. ‘Ramona Park Broke My Heart’ is the story of that growth.”

Speaking on the title of his highly-anticipated album, Vince explained it’s a tribute to the Ramona Park neighborhood in Long Beach where he grew up.

“It’s symbolic of home. And everyone has a home. Even though it’s very personal to me, everyone can relate to it. That’s why I thought it would work for this chapter,” he said.
