A satirical TikTok musical centered around Taco Bell's Mexican Pizza is in the works. Dolly Parton, Doja Cat, and other special guests are all set to participate.
To celebrate the May 19 return of the favorite menu item that was discontinued in 2020, Taco Bell is putting together Mexican Pizza: The Musical. It will chronicle the harrowing story of Mexican Pizza enthusiasts who fought to bring back the menu item. Country superstar Dolly Parton will star opposite rapper Doja Cat, who has been campaigning for the return of the item. News of the Mexican Pizza's return was first confirmed during Doja Cat's weekend 1 set at Coachella, where she shouted "I brought back the Mexican Pizza, by the way!"
The musical's inspiration comes from Doja Cat's viral TikTok jingle about the menu item and digital creator Victor Kunda's response to it. Kunda created a TikTok imagining the jingle as a musical. Kunda and other special guests will also appear in the musical.

As for those behind the scenes, Hannah Friedman (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp) wrote the script for Mexican Pizza: The Musical, while Grammy-winning duo Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear wrote the score.
Parton's involvement comes after she mentioned her love for Taco Bell during an interview with Insider in January. She revealed that she's particularly a fan of Taco Bell's soft-shell tacos. In response to if the chain should bring back the Mexican Pizza, Parton said, "I think they should!"
Mexican Pizza: The Musical will premiere on TikTok on May 26 at 8pm ET.
