John Carpenter Announces 'Halloween Ends' Soundtrack & Shares New Song

Film composer John Carpenter has announced the soundtrack to Halloween Ends, the latest film in his Halloween horror franchise. He made the LP with his frequent collaborators Daniel Davies and Cody Carpenter, and it’s out October 14 via Sacred Bones (with a physical release following on January 20). The film is set to be released the same day.

The film follows Michael Myers and Laurie Strode as their battle comes to a spine-chilling climax. The movie is set to be the final installment of the franchise and stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Will Patton, Kyle Richards, Andi Matichak, and more.

In addition to Carpenter’s soundtrack, a companion EP features a new song from Boy Harsher that appears in the film. The track is called “Burn It Down”, and the official audio has been released. Three other versions of the track are on the EP: an instrumental version, a rework, and an instrumental rework.

The soundtrack for Halloween Ends will include 20 songs. Carpenter’s last soundtrack was for the recent adaptation of Stephen King’s Firestarter, which was released back in May. Prior to Halloween Ends, he and his collaborators provided the soundtracks to 2021’s Halloween Kills and 2018’s Halloween. Additionally, his most recent instrumental album, Lost Themes III: Alive After Death, came out earlier this year.
