ShaqFu Radio Featured Artist of the Week: Public Enemy

The ShaqFu Radio Featured Artist of the Week is Public Enemy!

Public Enemy is an American hip hop group that was formed in 1986. Currently consisting of Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Professor Griff, Khari Wynn, DJ Lord, Sammy Sam, and the S1W group, the group is known for their politically charged music, criticism of the American media, and particular interest in speaking out for the African American community. Public Enemy has released 14 studio albums, 5 of which are certified gold or platinum, and has been called "the most influential and radical band of their time." In 2013, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Shaq has actually noted Public Enemy as one of the artists that have heavily influenced his music career. Public Enemy was one of his earliest influences. In fact, Shaq was 14 when he first saw Public Enemy live, and that is when he recalls becoming fixated on DJ'ing.

Shaq also sampled Public Enemy's "Public Enemy No. 1" and "Don't Believe the Hype" on "Intro" from Shaq Diesel. He then sampled "Don't Believe the Hype" on another track from Shaq Diesel entitled "(I Know I Got) Skillz."

Check out 5 of Public Enemy's biggest hits below.

"Don't Believe the Hype"

"Can't Truss It"

"Fight the Power"

"He Got Game"
